Carey H. Peerman, BSN, MBA, LNHA, FACHE, recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders. Peerman is the Administrator of Radford Health & Rehab Center in Radford, Virginia.

“I am extremely honored by this,” Peerman says. “By achieving Fellow status, I hope I can better serve my patients and community.” Thomas C. Dolan, PhD, FACHE, CAE, president and chief executive officer of ACHE, touts the standard of excellence attained by Peerman. “By becoming an ACHE Fellow and simultaneously earning board certification from ACHE, healthcare leaders can show that they are committed to providing high-quality service to their patients and community.” Currently, only 8,500 healthcare executives hold Fellow status in FACHE.

To obtain Fellow status in ACHE, candidates must fulfill stringent requirements, including passing a comprehensive exam, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating a high level of professional and community involvement. Fellows also commit to ongoing professional development and recertification every three years.
